Frequently Asked Questions

Does acupuncture hurt?

You may feel a pinch when they go in, but it's not at all a painful experience.  If you're ever uncomfortable during your treatment, please let your acupuncturist know.  Your comfort is important.

Do you take insurance?

Yes.  Check to see if you have coverage for acupuncture here

Is acupuncture safe?

Very!  Acupuncturists must use single use sterile, one time use needles on each patient.  Acupuncture is our specialty, something we've been rigorously trained in.

What can I expect during an acupuncture treatment?

Upon arrival for your appointment I will collect your paperwork and look it over to get an idea of the conditions for which you’d like to be treated. Then I will take you back to the treatment room and do a comprehensive intake, including a detailed history of your health. I will look at your tongue and check your pulse. Once the intake is finished I will have you lie on the table to insert the needles. When the needles are inserted, I will turn off the lights and leave you alone to rest. I will check on you once during that time. Then I will come in, remove the needles, do any necessary adjunctive techniques, and discuss herbs and set up future appointments.

Does it work?

Absolutely!  It's not magic, some conditions take longer to treat than others, but most people do benefit from their treatments.  I'm committed to use every tool in my belt to provide patients with the relief they're seeking.  That is my commitment to every one of my patients and you.
